The ARRL 2002 January VHF Sweepstakes contest is now history!

I had a lot of fun, and want to thank everyone who participated in the contest.  We managed to work about 395/82 for a preliminary score of 86.6K or so.  We lost the vehicle alternator between FM18  and FM29, and had to shut down early.  Luckily, we were able to limp home using some of the spare rover-batteries to run headlights and ignition....1st things 1st.  I didn't want to spend the night (cold) sleeping in the van, waiting to explain all my antennas to the police (again...).

Conditions seemed pretty bad, except for the rain scatter on 9, 6, and 3cm.  There certainly was lots and lots of rain all day Saturday, into Sunday morning where I was in FM15,25,26,16,17, and 27.  Signals got louder, the higher we went in frequency!!  6 meters was doing OK on Sunday morning, although I never heard any Europeans, as we did on the previous 2 days...c'est la vie. eh?

Anyways...we tried hard, but just couldn't work many guys we expected to work.  We'll give 'em hell next time.

Here's what we worked in the contest...
